Workshop on Security Council Resolution 1325 and the agenda of women, peace and security

Baghdad Women Association implemented a workshop on Security Council Resolution 1325 and the agenda of women, peace and security within the project “Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda in three fragile contexts” in partnership with CARE International in Iraq and with funding support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
With the participation of 20 representatives of the women’s rights organizations targeted in the project The workshop included the presentation of the historical stages of Security Council Resolution 1325, a discussion of the mechanism for implementing its goals at the international and national levels, a discussion of international and national strategic plans, and the importance of building partnerships and alliances with government agencies to implement the goals of the decision in Iraq and Anbar Governorate. At the end of the workshop, The knowledge of the participants increased about the concept of the Resolution, its implementation mechanism, and the importance of building alliances with government and community agencies and decision-makers to implement the goals of Resolution 1325 and the agenda of women, peace and security.
