Participation in the celebration of World Refugee Day
#Baghdad_Women_Association’s Listening and Consulting Centre in Duhok-Seiji participated in two celebrations marking World Refugee Day. The first was organized by the Directorate of Duhok Governorate in Newroz Park in cooperation with UNHCR and the second was organized by the Domiz 2 camp administration inside the camp with a broad presence of civil society organizations and many refugees from the Duhok and Dumiz 2 camps.
The staff and beneficiaries participated in the presentation of cash-for-work items produced under the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities in Iraq”, supported by UN Women and the European Trust Fund (MADAD) on 19 and 20 June 2019.
During the celebrations, a large number of handicrafts and paintings produced by refugees were displayed. The celebrations also included folk songs and dances, expressing the solidarity of all nationalities and religions.
