Legal Awareness Session on Sexual Harassment
#Baghdad_Women_ Association held a legal awareness session on 16th Jun 2019 on sexual harassment as provided for in Article 396 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
The session was held as part of the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities” in Iraq, implemented with the support of UN Women and the European Trust Fund (Madad).
in the listening and consulting center in the village of Seiji, in the presence of 26 girls.
The session, held at BWA’s Listening and Consulting Center in the village of Seiji in the presence of 26 girls, dealt with the definition of the concepts harassment, sexual harassment and electronic harassment in addition to legal penalties against harassers.
This session comes as part of a series of awareness raising sessions carried out by the staff of the center in order to educate girls on different topics.
