A webinar in the occasion of Baghdad Women Association’s 16th anniversary

#Baghdad_Women_Association blew the 16th candle of its establishment by organizing a webinar on June 14th, 2020. The president of BWA , Ms. Liza Nissan Hido opened the webinar with her keynote speech, in which she expressed her love and gratitude to all the governmental bodies and the local & international NGOs that contributed in BWA’s road to success, followed by a presentation of BWA’s strategy for the next four years was presented, in which it focused on the objectives and priorities of the next stage, such as (develop ways to respond to women’s issues in the current COVID-19 crisis, continue to pressure decision-makers to pass the Anti-Domestic Violence Bill, enhance women’s political empowerment and enable them to have a successful political experiences, intensify economic empowerment programs for women as it’s considered as an effective tool for the balance of power between males and females, the continuation of the association’s road in working on the National Action Plan for UNSCR1325, developing psychological, social and legal support services for women to recover from this crisis, expanding the geographical area of work to the southern governorates).

Ninety persons of governmental representatives, such as the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the High Commission for Human Rights and the Ministry of Immigration and Displaced as well as local and international civil society organizations and international such as (Norwegian People’s Aid, International Republican Institute, Lutheran World Federation) and consultants / experts attended the webinar, which was live on our Facebook page and watched by 1.5K, and we received 198 positive and joyful comments from many people who congratulated us, we quote some here (we thank the wise administration of BWA represented by the professional, eager, persistent and feminist-builder Ms. Liza Nissan), we got many similar comments on the staff (young creative, unique feminist staff, young generations with great possibilities that we rarely find in other foundations, the efforts of BWA’s president is clear from the successful staff).

BWA’s president concluded the webinar after answering all the questions and replying to all the observations by the audience, and she thanked all the attendees and all those who supported and contributed in achieving BWA’s objectives successfully.
