‘Cash for Work’ products displayed at World Refugee Day ceremony

At the invitation of the Domiz 1 camp, #Baghdad_Women_Association and a number of civil society organizations in Duhok attended a celebration marking World Refugee Day on June 18, 2019.

They celebration aimed to give refugees a sense of peace, security and stability at a time when they have been facing difficult circumstances in order to give them hope of starting a new life filled with prosperity and joy.

BWA’s participation in the event was represented in the display of items produced by the cash-for-work activities carried out within the framework of the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities in Iraq”, which is supported by UN Women and the European Trust Fund Madad.

The celebration included a number of activities and events such as songs, folkloric performances, setting free white pigeons,  releasing colored balloons in the air in an expression of freedom and peace.
