The project team of Strengthening Political and Civil Participation of Women in Baghdad implemented many activities during June 2021 as part of the Mahalla 21 Campaign, including: Two webinars via Zoom about topics related to elections (the independent candidates gains and losses in the new election law – Voting day measures). Approximately 80 participants from all over Iraq attended these webinars. In addition, two debates were conducted in the University of Technology on the topics (college uniform – online learning) with 40 attendance, which was very popular in the university. Finally a women ride bike group activity was implemented in the participation of 19 women cyclist who distributed 300 brochures about electoral awareness in Baghdad.
The project and the implemented activities aim to increase civil awareness of young women and men, in addition to addressing political and electoral issues that are the main goal of implementing the project’s activities.
