BWA Participates in Meeting Between the President of the Republic and Women’s Organizations

Baghdad Women Association (BWA) participated as part of a delegation of women’s organizations in a meeting with His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Nizar Amidi, held on 19 May 2026 at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.

The meeting brought together representatives of women’s organizations to discuss the situation of Iraqi women and explore ways to strengthen their role and participation across different sectors. Discussions emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions, and supporting their contributions to Iraq’s development and reconstruction.

Through its participation, BWA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s rights, supporting women’s leadership and meaningful participation, and strengthening cooperation with government institutions and civil society organizations to advance gender equality and empower Iraqi women.
