BWA Supports Girls’ Engagement and Teamwork Through Football in Sinjar

As part of ongoing efforts to promote safe, inclusive, and engaging recreational opportunities for girls, a series of football matches were organized in Tal Banat Complex, bringing together two teams representing Qahitaniya and Tal Banat. The event saw the active participation of 29 girls, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with teamwork and community spirit.
These matches went beyond being just a physical activity—they served as a platform for confidence-building, collaboration, and joy. The girls showed high levels of engagement and commitment, turning the event into a powerful expression of empowerment through sport.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by the local community and the families of the participants, highlighting the importance of such activities in promoting girls’ involvement in public and athletic life. Observers noted a marked improvement in team cooperation and group interaction skills among the girls.
Given the success of this experience, the organizing team strongly recommends continuing similar activities on a regular basis, expanding the program to include more areas within the Sinjar District, and offering consistent training opportunities for girls interested in further developing their football abilities.
