BWA Participates in Workshop on Protecting Electoral Processes in the Information Environment

Baghdad Women Association (BWA) participated in a workshop held in Erbil under the theme “Protecting Electoral Processes in the Information Environment.” The workshop was organized by the International Foundation in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) to discuss and endorse the 2026–2027 Roadmap.

The workshop brought together representatives of the Independent High Electoral Commission, including the Deputy Head of the Electoral Administration for Technical Affairs, directors from the National Office, and representatives of civil society organizations.

Discussions focused on monitoring violent and hate speech related to elections, strengthening cooperation between the Electoral Commission, the International Foundation, and electoral stakeholders, and enhancing the role of civil society organizations in supporting transparent and credible electoral processes. Participants also explored mechanisms for monitoring election-related information, promoting electoral reform, and increasing public awareness of electoral participation.

Through its participation, BWA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen electoral integrity, promote informed civic participation, and enhance cooperation between civil society organizations and national institutions.
