BWA Participates in Workshop on Justice and Inclusion Policy for Iraq’s Mine Action Programme

Baghdad Women Association extends its sincere thanks to the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) for inviting us to participate in the Workshop on the Review of the Draft Justice and Inclusion Policy and its Action Plan for the Iraqi National Mine Action Programme, held in Erbil from 13–15 July 2026.

BWA was proud to contribute to this important national initiative in cooperation with the Directorate of Mine Action – Iraq (DMA), the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA), and relevant national stakeholders.

The workshop provided an important opportunity to review the draft policy and action plan and discuss ways to strengthen justice and inclusion within Iraq’s mine action programmes. Ensuring that mine action efforts are responsive to the needs of all members of society is essential for building safer and more inclusive communities.

Baghdad Women Association appreciates the organizers for this valuable opportunity and looks forward to continued collaboration toward a safer, more inclusive, and resilient Iraq.
