BWA Holds Community Dialogue on Economic Reintegration in Anbar

Baghdad Women Association conducted a dialogue session as part of the community dialogue sessions in Anbar Governorate, which were designed based on community-based approaches to prevent violent extremism and promote social cohesion. This session was held as part of the third dialogue session on 8 January 2026, entitled “Economic Reintegration – Loans and Vocational Training,” with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (Directorate of Labor and Vocational Training).
Within the project Promoting Community Resilience to Prevent Violent Extremism In coordination with PVE subcommittee in Anbar, funded by German Cooperation. The session aimed to introduce the economic opportunities available through the programs of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and to highlight the role of small loans and vocational training in supporting the economic reintegration of returnees, youth, and the host community. The discussion covered several key themes, including loan mechanisms for small projects, types of projects suitable for returnees and youth, challenges faced by beneficiaries in accessing loans, vocational training opportunities, the most in-demand skills in the local labor market, and mechanisms for linking training to real job opportunities or income-generating projects.
