More Than 50 Women Changemakers Gather to Build a More Inclusive Future

In January, Baghdad Women Association, in partnership with the Free Yezidi Foundation (FYF), organized a cohort meeting that brought together more than 50 women Changemakers from Sharya, Sheikhan, Khanke, and Qaraqosh.

The meeting provided a platform for participants to connect, strengthen collaboration, and exchange knowledge and advocacy strategies. Women from different minority communities shared their experiences, discussed common challenges, and explored ways to support one another in advancing women’s rights within their communities

The cohort meeting strengthened solidarity among the participants and encouraged collaboration to create positive change. Through open discussions and shared learning, the Changemakers reinforced the importance of collective action and community leadership.

This activity is part of a program implemented by a consortium of four women-led Iraqi organizations across nine locations in Iraq. The program aims to train 144 women to advocate for women’s rights, support protective legislation on child marriage and violence against women, and promote equal access to education and employment.

Through this partnership, we remains committed to empowering women leaders and supporting inclusive communities across Iraq.
