knitting activity

On 9 April 2019, the Baghdad Women Association ,through the staff of it’s listening and counseling center in Qaraqosh, organized a two weeks workshop on “Strengthening the empowerment and resilience of women and girls in conflict-affected host communities in Nineveh Plain-Iraq” funded by the Lutheran World Federation, 29 women and girls, through which women and girls participated in cooperation and worked as team work encouraging each other to develop their skills, abilities and exchange of experiences in this area and under the direct supervision of the trainer Ms.Linda.
The activity ended by celebrating at BWA center, during which all the pieces and clothes that were knitted during the session were presented and gifts were distributed to all participants which were knitting tools which they will use in future and to encourage women. The women and girls expressed their satisfaction at attending and participating in such events to develop their skills in the art of knitting in order to reduce the psychological pressures, and as appreciation and gratitude from the participants, each participant knitted a piece as a gift to the BWA.
