BWA Participates in National Conference on Combating Child Labour

Baghdad Women Association (BWA) participated in the National Conference for the Launch of the Guideline on Combating Child Labour, organized by Shafaq Organization for Human Rights and Sustainable Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports on 4 May 2026. The conference brought together the Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, representatives of government ministries, and local and international civil society organizations.

The conference highlighted the importance of strengthening national efforts to combat child labour, raising community awareness of children’s rights, and promoting legal frameworks that protect children and support family stability. Participants also emphasized the need for effective implementation of the national guideline and relevant legislation to ensure the protection and well-being of children.

BWA’s participation reflects its continued commitment to strengthening partnerships with government institutions and civil society organizations to advance child protection, support family well-being, and contribute to national strategies that promote a safer and more stable society.
