Baghdad Women Association Holds Conference on Climate Change and Its Impact on Women and Employment Opportunities Among Displaced Populations

Every seed planted and every woman supported is a step toward a more sustainable future.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing societies today, particularly affecting the most vulnerable groups, including women and displaced individuals. Women experience compounded impacts due to social and economic burdens, as they struggle to access resources and job opportunities, leading to increased poverty and marginalization. Additionally, environmental changes affect employment opportunities among displaced populations and result in the loss of traditional livelihoods. This necessitates sustainable solutions to support these groups and enhance their ability to adapt to climate change.
To highlight this climate crisis, Baghdad Women Association held a conference titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on Women and Employment Opportunities Among Displaced Populations” in the capital, Baghdad, on February 26, 2025, as part of the “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq” project. The conference was attended by approximately 55 participants, including representatives from government agencies, ministries, and international and local organizations.
