Advocacy Training in Anbar under the ‘Building Peace and Stability in Iraq’ Project

The “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq” project, funded by (FCDO), recently concluded a significant community training session in Anbar on the 14 of July. This vital training session focused on “Mechanisms and Steps to Implement Advocacy Campaigns on Women’s Issues, and Justice between men and women,” bringing together a diverse group of 20 participants committed to promoting Justice between men and women.
The training aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and tools essential for effective advocacy on women’s issues and justice. Throughout the session, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions, interactive workshops, and strategic planning activities. These were designed to enhance their understanding of advocacy campaign mechanisms and steps, ensuring they are well-prepared to lead initiatives that address and mitigate injustices between men and women within their communities.
The project, “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq,” underscores FCDO’s dedication to fostering peace, stability, and equality in regions affected by conflict. By empowering local community members with the skills and knowledge necessary for advocacy, the initiative aims to create a ripple effect of positive change, contributing to long-term peace and stability in Iraq.
The participants, hailing from various backgrounds, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to partake in such an impactful training. They highlighted the significance of learning practical advocacy skills, which they plan to implement in their respective spheres of influence to champion women’s rights and justice.
As the training concluded, a collective sense of determination and hope prevailed among the participants. They left with a renewed commitment to advocate for women’s issues and justice, equipped with the tools and strategies needed to effect meaningful change.
