BWA Staff and Volunteers Participate in LWF Training on Violence Prevention and Risk Mitigation

Staff members and volunteers of Baghdad Women Association participated in a specialized training organized by The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Duhok Governorate from 27 to 29 July 2026 entitled “Violence Prevention and Risk Mitigation in Development Contexts within an Integrated Approach to Responding to the Protracted Humanitarian Crisis in Iraq.”
The training aimed to enhance participants’ capacities in integrating principles of violence prevention, the Do No Harm approach, and risk mitigation measures into humanitarian and development programs, contributing to the design of safer, more inclusive interventions that respond to the needs of targeted communities.
The training covered several key topics including violence prevention, justice between women and men, humanitarian and development contexts, empowerment, risk analysis and mitigation measures, the impact of harmful social norms, root cause analysis of violence, and mechanisms for integrating protection principles across different sectors such as education, economic empowerment, and the rule of law.
