workshop on the training judicial curriculum
BWA implemented a training workshop on the training judicial curriculum “women rights under the international standards and the Iraqi national laws” within the project” Eliminate of discrimination & violence against women” adopted by BWA since 2015 supported by NPA. The targeted group for the training is Ministry of Education’s employees and the directorates of Al-Karkh and Risafa from Baghdad province. (25) Attendees participated such as department managers, educational guides and supervisors, legal advisors and also members of Advancement Women Committee in the ministry. The workshop was for the dates 17-18-19/7/2016 at the conference hall of Rukn Kahramana hotel/ Al Karrada.
Through the workshop, the international legal frame was shown for the international agreements supporting women which include Iraq is part of it. And also the national legal frame in the Iraqi laws (personal status, punishments, fight human traffic, draft law on protection from domestic violence) and unfair legal texts to women on GBV.
At the end of the workshop recommendations and suggestions were gathered and honoring the trainers, social worker Ghasaq Muhyee Rasheed and the project manager Rasha Khalid Halool by giving them acknowledgement letters.
