Women speak out session included gender-based violence, self-esteem and self-confidence

#Baghdad_Women_Association staff implemented an awareness session on GBV and Self-esteem and self-confidence within women speak out activity at BWA center in Qaraqoush within the project of (Empowering women and girls returning in Nineveh plain /Qaraqoush) in cooperation with MSI and Re.Coded organizations on 27 November 2019 and 4 December 2019.

The sessions included explaining the concept of GBV for morning and evening groups, where stereotypes and their impact on women and girls in society and social roles were discussed. Self-esteem and self-confidence were discussed. The outcomes of the sessions was that the beneficiaries shared stories of their lives and some success stories of women who have been subjected to GBV and how to overcome it and shared with all. As well women’s participation in family life was discussed through the presentation of realistic experiences and stories.
