Training workshop on GBV

The staff of the Listening and Counseling Center in QaraQosh, of #Baghdad_Women_Association, implemented the ninth workshop on gender-based violence within the project (supporting community resilience and empowering women and girls returning to Nineveh Plain, Hamdaniya District) with support from the Lutheran World Federation on December 8, 2019.
The workshop targeted 15 women and girls as it started to introduce the association and the services provided by the center. The workshop addressed several topics, including the concept of gender-based violence and its definition and the differences between sex and gender, and it was also addressed to the classification of violence categories according to the World Health Organization into three categories (self-directed violence / interpersonal violence / group violence) and under each category different types of violence during which the concept of violence against women was explained and several examples from the reality of society were given in the form of caricatures and the violence tree was then identified And its types (physical, psychological, economic and sexual)
At the end of the workshop, a realistic short story about violence was given to the participants.
