The elimination of discrimination & violence against women project staff holds 1st conference in Baghdad

The elimination of discrimination & violence against women project staff, funded by NPA, held 1st conference of the legislative committee in Oil Cultural Center on Tuesday dated 17th of November 2015 for discussing the research of women participation in decision making process that has been prepared to be as a one of the project’s requirements.

The conference, attended by representatives of the three presidencies, ministries, Iraqi Bar Association, Iraqi Jurists Union, NGOs and the researcher Isaam Asaad, focused on the most important laws that influence on women in the leadership & decision making, women quota in the parliament as well as women in the Iraqi constitution.

The conference concluded to recommendations that were collected from the attenders who have been divided into work groups, these recommendations will be annexed to the research that will be adopted in the advocacy campaigns run by BWA later.
