Participation in the celebration of International Women’s Day at the Human Rights Commission in Baghdad

Baghdad Women Association participated in the annual celebration by its colleague Mrs.Ghasaq Mohi, organized by the High Commission for Human Rights on the occasion of the International Woman’s Day under the slogan (The leaders’ print) on 12th March 2019. The celebration was attended by a large number of audiences, members of the Iraqi parliament, representatives of civil society organizations, and members of the Baghdad Provincial Council. The celebration started by the Iraqi national anthem and the song of Iraqi women by a group of people of special needs and a speech by UNHCR member Ms. Faten Al-Hilfi who spoke about the importance of working on the file of women, especially the efforts of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Also, Mr. Bashir Haddad, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, addressed the importance of the role of women. Creativity shields were distributed to a group of civil society activists and media professionals.
