October Activities – Center of listening and Psychological/Social Counseling in Sinjar District

The staff of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Project, with the provision of referral services and livelihoods for returnees, with the support of the Lutheran World Federation, implemented in the Psychosocial Listening and Counseling Center in Sinjar district during the month of October 2021, awareness sessions entitled (Gender-based violence) with the participation of 30 women and girls in Sinjar Center and the Burke Center, as well as 17 beneficiaries of various services through the referral pathway services, in addition to the implementation of a manual workshop for women and girls in the Psychosocial Listening and Counseling Center in Sinjar District with the participation of 15 women and girls from the people of Sinjar, and also during this month, psychosocial support sessions were implemented in Sinjar Center with the participation of 24 women and girls, in addition to the implementation of a training course entitled (Establishing small projects and expanding a small solution) in the hall of Abu Laila Restaurant with the participation of 50 women and girls , a workshop was also carried out with community leaders on gender-based violence with the participation of 20 men and boys in the Al-Qahtaniyah region, in addition to implementing a workshop with international and local organizations on gender-based violence , 45 women and girls were also registered for psychosocial support, and the International Girls’ Day was celebrated with the participation of 12 girls in Sinjar Center.

The aim of the project and the activities implemented by the association’s staff are to reduce violence and give psychological support and an opportunity to get work through training and raise the economic status of the individual.
