Monthly meeting with the Directorate of Violence against Women and the Family

The staff of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and Host Communities in Iraq”, implemented by the United Nations Women’s Fund and the European Trust Fund, participated in the monthly meeting of the Directorate of Violence against Women and Family in Dohuk governorate on 17 July 2019.

The meeting was attended by 12 local and international organizations working in the Kurdistan region to identify the challenges faced by organizations during their activities within the camps and to identify the problems facing women and girls.

The outcome of the meeting was the need to start a study under the supervision of the United Nations Population Fund UNFPA on the marriage of minors and its causes and the training of the United Nations Population Fund organizations working in the fight against gender-based violence.
