Monitoring the performance of the government in the implementation of the national plan of Security…

Baghdad Women Association conducted within the project ” Strengthening access to protection, participation and services to women refugees, Internally Displaced People IDPs and host communities in Iraq” funded by the European Union Regional Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis: EU MADAD Fund and in partnership with EuroMed Feminist Initiative EFI, a training workshop on “Monitoring the performance of the government in the implementation of the national plan of Security Council Resolution 1325” on 15-17 April 2019 in Baghdad- Ishtar Hall. The training workshop targeted a number of women activists as presidents of NGOs, media, lawyers and individual advocates. The training workshop covered the monitoring process and the indicators of the performance of the government and the measurements required, emphasizing on the importance of accountability and control tools and the development of the national mechanisms for accounting. The workshop concluded by laying down the most important criteria and characteristics that the civil society team is supposed to have to implement the Iraqi National Plan for Security Council Resolution 1325. The results of the workshop were therefore fully consistent with the objective of building the capacity of women activists to follow up and evaluate the government performance, to monitor weaknesses and gaps, and to provide reports to improve implementation.
