Legal Awareness Session

Baghdad_Women_Association Lestining and counseling center Dohuk-Siji staff conducted a legal awareness session on human rights as part of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women , Girls and Host Communities in Iraq” with the support of UN Women and the European Trust Fund MADAD on 25 August 2019.

The session was presented by lawyer Jihan Hussein and attended by 17 women and girls for legal awareness of human rights in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

The session dealt with the presentation of the legal articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to define the most prominent rights they guarantee such as the right to life, liberty, equality, respect for human dignity and non-discrimination because of religion, race, language and sex.
