Gender Based Violence Awareness workshop

#Baghdad_Women_Association by its staff of listening and counseling center in Qaraqoosh implemented two Awareness workshops to returners men in Nineveh Plain about Gender Based Violence in 24-25-June-2019 according to project activities (Strengthening the empowerment and resilience for women and girls of conflict-affected and host communities in Nineveh Plain, Iraq ) funded by Lutheran World Federation.

The workshop started by introducing to BWA and the services provided by the center in Qaraqoosh and the aims, activities of the project. The most important subjects represented in the concept of violence, gender, the problem tree to know the causes of violence, reasons and solutions, also the workshop discussed customs and tradition and the social role and its effect in strengthening violence situations, with clarification types of violence and the differences between gender and sex- the concept of power and authority- its types and its relation to violence, the workshop concluded by participation and discussion among participants and giving their opinions  about types of violence in society.
