GBV Awareness Workshop

On August, 20, 2019 #Baghdad_Women_Association staff conducted an awareness session on GBV at BWA Qaraqoush center within the project of (Enhancing the resilience of the community and empowerment of the returnee women and girls in Nineveh Plain, Al-Hamdaniya district).

The session targeted 15 women and girls, the social worker introduced Baghdad Women Association and the services provided by the listening and guidance center in Qaraqoush and the objectives of the project. The session dealt with several topics, including the concept of gender-based violence as well it also dealt with the problem tree, the types of violence, the differences between sex and gender and the different roles between men and women.in the society. In addition, the awareness session discussed the concept of power and discussed the relationship between powers to violence, with female beneficiaries sharing stories about GBV.
