Facilitating the implementation of Iraqi NAP for UNSCR 1325

BWA implemented the 8th a coordinative meeting of the project (Facilitating the implementation of Iraqi NAP for UNSCR 1325) adopted by BWA and supported by USIP on 25 of August 2016, the meeting conducted in the headquarter of BWA with presence of president of BWA and 28 representatives of the operation room of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, civil society activists feminism and representatives of Iraqi ministries (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Displacement and Migration, Research Service\Iraqi Council of Representatives, General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, National Reconciliation Committee, Diwan Al-Waqf of Christian and other religions and National Security Apparatus, the meeting focused on the previous stages that the contingency plan went through, the attendance were divided into four groups and wrote the completed activities of the government entities and organizations of contingency plan, and presented the challenges they faced and one of the common challenges is the weakness of state budget and economic crisis and limbering system of ministries and dissolving ministry of state for women’s affairs also disorder of security situation inside the country and frequent demonstrations and campaigns of the popular movement and other obstacles they faced, Then writing proposed operational steps and ways to development contingency plan to reach a comprehensive ways to the actual implementation phase. The meeting concluded with the intention of continuing cooperation and coordination and follow-up for the advancement of Iraqi women
