Developing community skills

Continuing its role in empowering and serving women and girls, the #Baghdad_Women_Association staff at the Siji Center for Listening and Consulting with a number of volunteers in Domiz 1 camp, is implementing various community skills development workshops in BWA cabinet Domiz 1 camp, which started in August 2019. To provide awareness, as well as manual and literacy workshops, as part of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and Host Communities in Iraq” with the support of UN-Women and the European Trust Fund MADAD .

Many girls and women come to receive support and participate in recreational, educational and empowerment activities, with the beneficiaries suggesting a variety of topics.

Volunteers are also beneficiaries of the cash-for-work activity, who have decided to transfer their handicraft experience to other women and girls, giving sustainability to the activity after its completion.
