Closing ceremony of cash-for-work activity

Baghdad_Women_Association’s Listening and Consulting Center in Seiji, Duhok, held a ceremony in Domiz camp to mark the successful conclusion of the cash-for-work activity held under the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and the host community in Iraq”, which was implemented with the support of UN Women and the European Trust Fund MADAD.

This year’s activity benefited 60 women and girls working in different fields such as sewing, cooking and farming. The beneficiaries underwent training activities to help them in their respective fields of work. Last year, 60 women and girls benefited from the same activity.

The aim of the activity was to empower 120 women and girls.

The celebration was a show of appreciation of the achievements of the beneficiaries, whose products helped to meet the needs of many others in need of these items. Of the recipients of the items, 30 beneficiaries attended the celebration from Domiz 1 and Domiz 2 camps. The beneficiaries expressed appreciation of the #Baghdad_Women_Association and the Seiji center’s staff for their support.

The Project Manager presented appreciation letters on behalf of BWA to all the directors of the centers in Domiz 1 and Domiz 2 camps 1 for their role and cooperation with Center’s staff.

The celebration concluded with the exchange of congratulations between the directors of the centers in the camps, staff and the beneficiaries of the activity, who jointly cut the cake of the celebration.
