BWA convenes women’s committee meeting in Baghdad
Baghdad Women Association convened the 2nd meeting of the Women`s Committee in Baghdad, held as part of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and the Host Community in Iraq”, which is implemented with the support of UNWOMEN and the European Trust “MADAD” Fund, on 8th April 2019.
The meeting was attended by all committee members who included representatives of the 9th of Nissan District Municipal Council, Baghdad Provincial Council, Civil Society Organizations, as well as Civil Activists.
The meeting discussed demands by the women’s movement as well as means to tackle challenges facing women in addition to means of enhancing their rights.
The participants in the meeting conducted an exercise to activate the referral pathways among the members of the Committee to contribute to the provision of necessary services for women and girls.
