Baghdad Women Association continues to implement awareness raising sessions for women and girls

#Baghdad_Women_Association staff implemented 13 awareness-raising workshops about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Reproductive Health (RH), seven in Najaf for 67 beneficiaries, three in Al-Nassir Center for 31 beneficiaries, as well as an additional three in Duhok for 30 beneficiaries. The sessions took place in July 2020 via WhatsApp, within the framework of “Strengthening Access to Protection, Participation and Services for women Refugees, Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and women in Host Communities in Iraq”, funded by the European Union, through the EU’s Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis, the EU ‘Madad’ Fund and implemented by a consortium led by EuroMed Feminist Initiative.

Parallel to the session, participating women and girls received access to psychosocial support from the present social worker.

The sessions played a key role in increasing knowledge and awareness of women and girls about GBV & RH. Quoting few participants: “the session is so useful, and the topics were so important, thank you for the information you provided us with.”
