Awareness Workshop on Gender Based Violence ( GBV ) – Qaraqush

Baghdad Women  Assosiation  LC  staff  in  Qaraqush ,  implemented an awareness workshop on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) within the project ” Enhancing The Strength And Resilience Of Women And Girls In Conflict – Affected Communities And Host Communities In The Nineveh Plain – Iraq”, supported by the Lutheran World Federation (LWF)  on 3rd  March , 2019.  The workshop targeted  (25) women and girls,  and was  started  by introducing BWA services provided by its LC in Qaraqush, as well as  the objectives and activities of the Project. The subjects  of the workshop included the concept of violence and its consequences, Problem Analysis Tree ,  reasons and solutions, and  the results of  Violence. The workshop also discussed some of the false customs and traditions which generate violence. The workshop agenda included types of social violence, differences between sex and gender, the concept of power and authority and power relationship with violence.  The workshop concluded in sharing  the participated women and girls their experiences with  violence .
