Awareness workshop on GBV and reproductive health

Within “Strengthening Access to Protection, Participation and Services for women Refugees, Internally Displaced People IDPs and women in Host Communities in Iraq” project, funded by the European Union, through the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis, the EU ‘Madad’ Fund and implemented by a consortium led by EuroMed Feminist Initiative, #Baghdad_women_association Staff in listening and Counseling center in Dohuk implemented an awareness session on GBV and reproductive health in Domiz 1 camp for Syrian refugees on 14 January, 2020.

The number of attendees of the activity was 10 women and girls aiming at increasing awareness of refugee women and girls in the camp on the issue of violence and reproductive health and work on health and intellectual development, as the workshop started with a brief provided by lawyer Gihan about the project and its goal and the activities that include legal issues, counseling and psychological support for women and girls inside the camp, And the interaction between women and girls with the project appeared and the importance of the issue of training, which is one of the important basics in the camp, as well, pre- and post-assessment was conducted and an assessment of the extent to which information they obtained in the field of gender-based violence and the importance of spreading it among women and girls in the camp and in society
