Awareness sessions for women

The Sinjar District Center has four awareness sessions on various topics, including the role, the difference between sex and gender, violence, and power. These sessions will be implemented inside the center during the month of June 2021 within the project to promote health, dignity and security for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. The sessions aimed at Forms of sexual and gender-based violence, causes, means of prevention and reporting, include risks of sexual and gender-based violence.

Improving the quality of response and empowering the local community with the aim of preventing and addressing violence Supporting positive changes in gender relations, gender equality and non-discrimination, and contributing to ending harmful traditional practices such as early marriage to protect women and girls from the dangers of violence within the community and providing beneficiaries with reporting and prevention mechanisms Information about referrals and available services to enable survivors to come forward and search for the service they need. The beneficiaries of the sexual and gender-based violence sessions said, “Thank you for your support. The session information is very useful for revealing a lot of misinformation that we used to practice.”
