Awareness session on Iraqi personal status law
#Baghdad_Women_Association in Seiji, Duhok, organized an awareness session on the 1959 Iraqi Personal Status Law on 10th June 2019 in Dumiz 2 Camp.
The session was held as part of the activities of the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities in Iraq”, implemented with the support of #UNWomen and the European Trust Fund (MADAD).
The aim of the session, presented by the centre’s lawyer Jihan Hussain, was to raise awareness by Syrian refugee women and girls of the Iraqi Personal Status Law in relation to matters such as divorce, alimony and child custody.
This session is part of a series of legal awareness sessions organized by the Guidance Center in Seiji, Duhok, to raise the legal awareness of women in the governorate.
