Awareness session familiarizes displaced girls with children’s rights

#Baghdad_Women_Association’s Listening and Consulting Center in Seiji, Dohuk, conducted an awareness session on children’s rights.

The session was part of the activities of the project “Strengthening the resilience of Syrian women and girls and host communities in Iraq”, implemented with the support of UN Women and the European Trust Fund (MADAD).

Presented by Lawyer Jihan Hussain, the session aimed to familiarise a group of displaced girls in Seiji village with the rights of the child in accordance with the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child of 1959, namely the right to be free from any forms of discrimination on the basis of sex or age.

At the end of the session, participants took part in a drawing exercise expressing the themes of the session.
