A consultative meeting to discuss :where is the second INAP of UNSCR 1325 of the government’s agenda

On July 12, 2020, #Baghdad_Women_Association held a consultative meeting to discuss :where is the second INAP of UNSCR 1325 of the government’s agenda, within the project (Monitoring and Evaluation for Implementation of the Iraqi National Action Plan for UNSCR 1325) supported by UN Women and Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), in participation of 19 representatives of Alliance 1325 Secretariat , Alliance 1325 organizations and activists and a representative of Women Empowerment Directorate.

The main outputs of the meeting were: Keep a communication mechanism between alliance 1325 and Women Empowerment Directorate and concerned parties to demand and perform a lobbying to keep the INAP of UNSCR 1325 and to be marginalized, Forming a delegation consists of alliance 1325 organizations and supportive organizations in the implementation of INAP of UNSCR 1325 to hold meetings and interviews with Women Empowerment Department and the concerned authorities, Including in the programs and activities topics on the second INAP and the development progress so all the public will understand the development progress, It is important to set a correct mobilization mechanism and discuss why it is wrong to merge the second INAP of UNSCR 1325 with the strategies, and that must be under the supervision of Human Rights Committee, Women and Childhood Committee, and the parties that previously worked on Resolution 1325, with partnership of the UN Women, and finally having a national mechanism to manage the second INAP of UNSCR 1325 file.
