The session included interactive activities on managing daily and work-related stress, practicing positive self-talk, recognizing colleagues’ strengths, and strengthening teamwork and mutual support. It also provided staff with an opportunity to learn, reflect, reconnect, and recharge while promoting a culture of care and collaboration within the team.

BWA remains committed to supporting staff well-being and creating opportunities that strengthen teamwork, connection, and a healthy work environment.

The session included several recommendations, including strengthening the Yazidi Survivors Law, providing sufficient financial resources, expanding health and psychosocial services, finding missing persons, supporting reconstruction in Sinjar, and creating safe conditions for voluntary return. Participants also called for stronger protection and support for women who are not covered by the current law and for appropriate solutions for Yazidi women who had children during captivity.

Baghdad Women Association emphasized the importance of moving from commemoration to action by turning these recommendations into practical measures that protect survivors’ rights, support justice, preserve collective memory, prevent future violations, and contribute to peace and social cohesion in Iraq.

The sessions brought together 62 men from the community to strengthen effective communication and behaviour management skills, challenge harmful stereotypes around masculinity, and promote respect, empathy, and non-violent approaches within families and communities.

Participants actively engaged in the discussions and emphasized the importance of continuing these dialogue spaces and expanding them to reach more men and young people. These efforts contribute to stronger social cohesion and support the foundations of sustainable peace in Ninewa.

The workshop brought together legal and social professionals and practitioners to strengthen their practical understanding of the Survivor-Centered Approach, promote knowledge and experience sharing, and discuss key challenges and practical solutions for improving responses to cases of violence.

The training introduced the key犀利士 concepts and principles of the Survivor-Centered Approach, highlighting its importance in strengthening the quality of legal and social responses while respecting survivors’ rights, dignity, and choices. Particular attention was given to confidentiality, informed consent, and meaningful participation in decisions related to protection measures and available services.

Through practical exercises and group discussions, participants explored key challenges and barriers in responding to cases of violence and identified practical solutions and good practices. The discussions also contributed to strengthening coordination among relevant stakeholders and promoting more effective, rights-based responses that reflect survivors’ needs and priorities.

The workshop reflects the ongoing cooperation between Baghdad Women Association and the Iraqi Jurists Union to strengthen professional capacities and improve responses to violence-related issues.

Through interactive activities and role-playing exercises, the training helped participants build confidence and develop practical communication skills to lead and advance their community initiatives more effectively.

Baghdad Women Association believes that investing in women’s capacities contributes to stronger and more resilient communities. Every new skill gained by a changemaker is a step toward a more inclusive and impactful future.

BWA was proud to contribute to this important national initiative in cooperation with the Directorate of Mine Action – Iraq (DMA), the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA), and relevant national stakeholders.

The workshop provided an important opportunity to review the draft policy and action plan and discuss ways to strengthen justice and inclusion within Iraq’s mine action programmes. Ensuring that mine action efforts are responsive to the needs of all members of society is essential for building safer and more inclusive communities.

The meeting brought together around 150 local and international organizations working in Duhok Governorate and the Zakho Independent Administration, along with representatives from local government institutions. The meeting focused on discussing ways to strengthen and improve NGO operations and reviewing recent facilitation measures introduced by the Directorate.

During the meeting, the Director of the Directorate, Mr. Falah Hassan, and his Deputy, Mr. Herdi Ahmed, presented the main steps and procedures recently adopted to support local and international partners.

The discussion also highlighted the Directorate’s future plans, particularly measures to simplify annual financial reporting procedures, tax exemptions, and social security arrangements for staff and workers in the NGO sector.

The meeting concluded with an open dialogue, providing an opportunity for organizations to share their views, feedback, and the legal and administrative challenges they face in their work.
